has also used his expertise to assist people with normal sensory
abilities to take advantage of the full power of their senses of smell
and taste. To date, Dr. Hirsch has conducted more
than 180 studies
on sensory phenomena and disorders. Many of these studies have explored
how enhancing certain smells and tastes can impact eating patterns,
mood, perception and even learning speed. In addition, Dr. Hirsch is currently
conducting more than 80 studies on the effects of smell and taste
on weight loss, sleep, consumer preferences and sexual habits, among
many other topics. His most remarkable studies have involved taste
and weight loss. Unknown
to most people is the fact that your senses of taste and smell have a
profound effect on hunger and eating. This phenomenon is illustrated in
the the following animated clip:

How Taste Helps You Eat Less
Based
on this process, Dr. Hirsch began his groundbreaking research into
smell, taste and hunger. Years ago, Dr. Hirsch noticed that those who
lost their sense of smell gain between 10 to 20 pounds within just a
few months. Dr. Hirsch
found that because these patients could not taste their food, their
brains were not receiving the normal hunger-suppressing signals to keep
them from overeating. Dr. Hirsch believed that
he could...by enhancing taste sensations...help people with normal
senses of taste to eat less, control food portions more effectively and
lose weight more efficiently. |
| | Sprinkles Enhance Weight Loss After more than 10 years of testing different
methods, Dr. Hirsch developed
a formula consisting of specially processed tastant crystals.
When sprinkled on food, these crystals affect the chemosensory
receptors in the nose, mouth and brain to enhance taste, reduce
appetite and increase feelings of fullness. During
a study with 92 overweight individuals, Dr. Hirsch found that those who
used the tastant sprinkles lost
an average of 33.6 pounds in only six months, without changing
their normal diet or exercise routines. He
found that these sprinkles helped the study participants to: - Eat less
and feel full faster
- Stop eating earlier and enjoy every
meal more
Now, this tastant crystal
formula—called SprinkleThin—is
being hailed as the easy, painless and sensible way to drop the pounds.
Dr.
Hirsch is currently studying its effects on more than 3,000 overweight
individuals, the results of which will be published soon.
Recently, Good
Morning America profiled Donella, a
dedicated user of Dr. Hirsch’s remarkable SprinkleThin
formula. She says, “Sometimes I don’t even
finish my entire meal! And it is not my choice, you
know…you just sprinkle and start eating and I’m full [much
faster].” To
